The captain is “not happy” at FC Barcelona and wants to look “in new directions”
The cousin of FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi has spoken about his future and says the captain is “not happy” at the club.
Since he submitted a burofax on Tuesday night indicating his desire to terminate his contract with the Catalans, the Argentine’s future has been on hold.
Believing himself to be a Blaugrana star who no longer follows both the expiration of his current contract, which is officially due to end in June 2021, and a release clause of 700 million euros, Messi hopes to immediately meet the top brass and organize an “amicable exit”.
This would most likely take the form of an inferior cash offer from Manchester City, but chairman Josep Bartomeu and his associates are not interested in hitting bases unless it is to discuss new terms for No.10 in the means of an extension.
Although Messi continues to confuse and frustrate fans by refusing to talk about his future, or address the humiliating 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League as the team’s leader, the cousin of the Ballon d’Or holder Maxi Biancucchi has less addressed his current situation.
Invited to comment Continental Radio, Biancucchi began by saying, “Leo has to find the place where he’s happy.” If he leaves, it is because he is not happy and wants to look for new directions. It is his right.
“From what I’ve read, he has a contract until next year,” Biancucchi continued. “If we analyze [the situation], it would be positive if he left today because the club would get the money and he would not go for free. They have to pay attention to how he feels.
As many Culers and football fans, Biancucchi had never imagined that that day, when Messi would prematurely leave his 20-year-old employers instead of retiring from the sport at Camp Nou, would come.
“I thought he was never going to leave Barca,” admitted Biancucchi. “I would like to see him in a team that plays well. Of all the teams that play well, it seems to me he would suit Manchester City. The low, [and] at PSG too, but we will wait and [hope that] wherever he goes, he will be happy and at peace, ”he concluded.
