Kooline is a Surefire Success as a Potential Major Copper-Gold Project
Surefire not only promising gold and iron ore projects in preparation, but it now looks like the company may be sitting on a major copper-gold system in the immediate vicinity of its Kooline high-grade silver-lead-copper project.
The Kooline project covers nearly 50 km of the Ashburton mineralized formation and is located 55 km south of Northern Star Resources (ASX: NST) 1 million ounce Paulsen gold mine in Western Australia.
“Through reprocessing and interpretation of geophysical data, the company has identified the potential of an important silver-lead and copper-gold system in Koolin,” said Managing Director Vladimir Nikolaenko.
“A series of deep drilling has been planned to test this exciting new target area, which will be co-funded by the government of WA through the EIS program.”
Surefire has identified Versatile Time Domain Electromagnetics (VTEM) conductors undercover immediately west of the Kooline yards, next to an intrusive heat source, where a large copper-gold system is targeted.
The company received $ 150,000 from the government of WA to co-fund drilling tests for the key copper-gold target below and along the direction of the Kooline veins.
The project harbors high-grade lead-silver veins previously mined from the Kooline mineral field, where previous sampling of rock chips from exposed structures has yielded grades of up to 79.3 percent lead and 249 grams per ton (g / t) of silver from June Audrey and Bilrose are working respectively.
There was also evidence of an increase in copper grades in the west, with channel sampling returning grades of up to 2.62 percent copper from the Phar Lap yards at the west end of the field.
Surefire also identified high grade gold targets from previous rock chip samples that returned up to 38 g / t gold, projecting into a cover area where magnetism indicates extensions of a structural corridor.
“We have also identified similar high-grade gold potential at the 1 million ounce Paulsens deposit, and we will seek to advance these targets in parallel with the identified core base and valuable potential test,” said Nikolaenko said.
The Kooline project area is under-explored and covers an almost 50 km strike corridor connecting the historic high-lead-silver workings of the Kooline mining center – home to more than 30 mines – as well as other mines lead-silver, copper-gold and gold. only historic sites and mines.
